I had no interest in this at all, as I thought it was just Gary filling in time while Nuno was doing his Rihanna tour. But... in a moment of clarity/drunkeness/whatever I bought it off Amazon, and I have to say, I'm impressed! I did think that the guitarist was a bit Nuno-lite, but I guess that's inevitable. However, once I got over that I really started to enjoy the songs. Gary sounds great, and the overall production of the album is, in my opinion, better than Extreme's Saudades album.
Well worth a purchase, and it gets better with a few listens. _________________ The Randall NB112 is mine. Oh yes, it IS mine... Time to crank up the volume... |

You should try Tribe Of Judah.
The guitarist is a fella called Leo Mellace, now runs a recording studio somewhere, can't remember where' but he is AMAZING. He clearly knows his theory inside-out an back-to-front.
It's got some weird moments like a little creepy girl singing, but its also got some awesome ones.
I shall check out Hurtsmile on your recommendation. _________________ www.youtube.com/BlueBuddha |

I've got the TOJ album Matt. I could never really get into it, I found it quite a hard listen. I remember liking Left For Dead, but apart from that... Kind of like Gary doing Nine Inch Nails. I should give it another try.
Hurtsmile is a more listenable, traditional rock album, albeit with a few Extreme/Gary isms thrown in. _________________ The Randall NB112 is mine. Oh yes, it IS mine... Time to crank up the volume... |

sooooo that guitarist... he's going for the nuno waist coat and necklace look I see.
During the verses Gary sounded too punky (love pistols) for me.
I'm sure I've heard the main riff before somewhere _________________ www.youtube.com/BlueBuddha |

Just watched the video on the extreme web site. Catchy tune. You can tell that's a Cherone playing guitar, they look like twins. _________________ Sometimes life gets in the way. |

So Hurtsmile is playing in Rochester, NY in October. My brother's band is one of the bands opening. Deciding if I should make the 3 hour drive to check this out. Maybe get a chance to meet Gary. _________________ 1989 Ibanez RG750
